Cavallino, Italy Holiday

[Italy Holiday - July / Aug 2006]

We spent a week in the Veneto region of Italy, staying in an apartment in Sant'Angelo, an holiday village, in Cavallino.
The holiday village was on the Adriatic coast, just north of Venice. Here's some of our pics and videos:

Treviso day trip: We spent the day exploring Treviso on the promise of the guide books that old town centre is much nicer than the suburban view to and from the airport (which was right). Robert was at home propped up at the bar chatting away...
[Treviso day trip]
Venice day trip: We caught a local river bus from Caravallino to Venice, arriving next to St Mark's Sq. Lots of and lots of well fed pidgeons. We visited the Basilica, some nearby winding streets, and the Jewish ghetto (where Emily and Nic bought some Morano glass necklaces). It rained heavily so we caught a couple of river buses to get around - once Nic decyphered the route info.

Padua day trip: We visited Padua (Padova), famous for its 12th century university.
[Padua day trip]
Jesolo: the nearby town provided a reptile / aquarium; a shark museum, and a street fair.

Holiday village: We stayed at the Sant'Angelo holiday village. Our self catered apartment was cosy but comfortable with a patio for outside dining. We made good use of the facilties - restaurant, pool and play area.
